Danny Deraney is a leading Los Angeles-based Public Relations Executive. Named by the The New York Observer as one of the top celebrity crisis communications experts, Danny has garnered a reputation as one of the most sought after entertainment and celebrity publicists in the world. He has provided guidance to clients while helping them meet their strategic objectives. During that time, campaigns he has led have garnered over a billion in measured audience reach each year.

He has worked on a variety of campaigns for several brands and celebrities. They include Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, William, Prince of Wales, Jay-Z, Madonna, Fergie, The Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osbourne, Gene Simmons, Toys “R” Us Expedia, Microsoft and Macy’s.

In the Broadway and theater community, he has worked on a variety of shows on and off-Broadway, including She Loves Me and Steve Martin’s Meteor Shower with Tony Winner Laura Benanti, The Collaboration with Paul Bettany and Erik Jensen, 1776 Revival with Tony Nominee Elizabeth A. Davis and more.

Danny has also been called upon from various organizations and clientele for various crisis communications campaigns, including Universal, Casey Kasem, Paris Hilton and Dan Marino.

His analysis and op-ed’s have been featured in news outlets such as 60 Minutes,Variety,Associated Press, New York Times, LA Times, People Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, CNN, News Nation and CBS News. Prior to creating Deraney Public Relations, Danny served as Manager of Media and Public Relations at On the Scene Productions in Los Angeles, supervising all account activity and PR strategies. During his seven-year stint at OTSP, Danny secured media placements for clients in the entertainment, publishing, consumer and healthcare industries, reaching over 700 million viewers a year across various campaigns. He developed extensive relationships with media professionals in television and radio and with editorial contacts in the digital, new media and online arena.

A graduate of San Francisco State University, Danny Deraney earned his BA in Organizational Communication and began his career as a sports intern at KPIX-CBS in San Francisco. Through his hard work, Danny landed the coveted position of field producer and Assignment Editor. In this capacity Danny was responsible for orchestrating and conducting interviews and organizing field assignments for live broadcasts including coverage of San Francisco’s famous road race Bay to Breakers and various election coverage.
