Slates for Sarah – Honoring a Friend

When we lose a loved one suddenly, we try and think of ways to honor and preserve their memory in way they would have been proud. What friends and family are doing for Sarah Jones, is an example of what love is all about.

Sarah Jones, 27, was  a crew member that was killed last Thursday during the filming of the Gregg Allman biopic “Midnight Rider” in Georgia.

Her friends and family have created, “Slates for Sarah,” where they have asked crew members to honor Sarah with her name written on film slates, also known as clappers.

The Facebook Page  has amassed 28,000 likes as of this morning. Production crews from all over the world including Downton Abbey, The Vampire Diaries and Sharknado 2 have shared their solidarity and homage to Sarah on the page and Twitter.

Many friends are trying to get Sarah included in the Oscars Memoriam tribute in 2014. Whether she makes it or not, this tribute, which is gaining momentum by the second, will surely never be forgotten. Just like Sarah.
