Blair Tindall is a Grammy-nominated musician, journalist, and author of “Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music.” The Golden Globe winning  series, which Blair is a consultant for, was created by Jason Schwartzman and stars Malcolm McDowell, Bernadette Peters, Lola Kirke, Gael Garcia Bernal and violinist Joshua Bell.

Aired in early 2014 on the second season of Amazon Studios’ Instant Video and premiered Dec. 23 as a 10-episode series on Amazon’s pioneering online channel.

As a journalist, Blair has written for The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, Los Angeles Times and Sierra magazine. She also presented a critically-acclaimed Carnegie Recital Hall debut and has played principal oboe with the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s; she was also singled out by CD Review magazine for her solo performance on the film soundtrack of Spike Lee’s “Malcolm X.”

In addition, Blair held the solo oboe chair of the Broadway productions of Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Man of La Mancha, and Aspects of Love. She is a graduate of Stanford University, Columbia University and Manhattan School of Music, and has taught both music and journalism at Stanford, Mills College, and the University of California-Berkeley.
